Surplus vehicle and equipment auctions announced in Saratoga Springs and Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Office of General Services announced two upcoming surplus auctions in the Capital Region. Vehicle, highway equipment, and miscellaneous property located in Saratoga Springs will be available. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! The first auction will be held in Saratoga Springs on Tuesday, July 18. The auction begins at 9:30 a.m. at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation located at 2369 Route 50 South. The second auction will be held in Albany on Tuesday, August 29. The auction was initially scheduled for July 19 but had to be rescheduled. The event will be held at the Office of General Services State Campus Auction Lot at 1220 Washington Ave. For information on specific items and terms of sale, click here. STILLWATER, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Swimming has reopened at Brown's Beach on Saratoga Lake after it was closed due to potential harmful algae blooms in the water. Stillwater Town Supervisor Ed Kinowski said the New York State Department of Health's (DOH) test of the water came back negative. Swimming at the beach was shut down until the bloom could be tested by DOH. After the test results came back negative, swimming resumed on June 27.However, that only lasted a few days. Kinowski had to close swimming at the beach again on July 6 after another potential harmful algae bloom was spotted. CLAYTON, Mo. -- St. Louis County Police say that they have arrested and charged the final suspect in a plot to kill a 19-year-old one week ago. Demetrius Strother, 19, faces murder and robbery charges. He is the fifth person facing charges in Jaylin Johnson's death. Strother's bond is set at $2 million, cash-only. Jaylin Johnson Jaylin Johnson was shot and killed just after 1 a.m. on Friday, July 7, on St. Charles Rock Road at Engelholm Avenue. When police arrived, they found Johnson deceased at the scene, as well as numerous shell casings.Johnson had been just got off a MetroLink train before he was killed. Police say surveillance video shows Strother with a group of people pointing at Johnson. Investigators allege that they were planning on killing him. CLAYTON, Mo. -- A Lake St. Louis man has been charged with several sex crimes and police are searching for more victims. Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell says that Enrique White, 29, faces seven felony charges including rape and sodomy. Police are calling him a serial rapist. If convicted, White may face a life sentence in prison.Enrique White, 29Investigators say that White committed the sex crimes between December 2015 and May 2023. So far there are four victims from these crimes and none of them knew the suspect. They live in locations ranging from St. Charles County to the Metro East.
