NORTH HUDSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A South Glens Falls woman fell over 100 feet down South Dix Mountain before grabbing onto a small spruce tree, preventing her from going over a vertical cliff face. According to the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the conditions included pouring rain, deep snow, slippery ice, and a soaking wet spruce tree cover. On December 26, around 5:30 p.m., Forest Ranger Jamison Martin responded to a hiker who slipped off the summit of South Dix Mountain. According to the DEC, the hiker fell several hundred feet down steep snow and a rockslide before latching onto a small spruce tree to prevent further fall over a vertical cliff face. "We had a lot of rain recently, so we had a lot of washouts," said Ranger Martin. "Stuff that’s usually covered in snow this time of year was washed out." ST. LOUIS - Multiple people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving a van transporting those with developmental disabilities.The good news is that all of the injuries were non-life-threatening. The crash happened at North Florissant and North Grand in the Fairgrounds neighborhood of north city. The scene is just clearing, with wreckers taking away both of the vehicles involved in the crash.Our Bommarito Automotive Group SkyFOX helicopter was flying over the area at about 7:15 a.m. One of the vehicles involved was an SUV. The other was a transport van from the 'Southside Wellness Center,' an organization based in St. Louis. STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. - A group of poultry farmers has filed a lawsuit against Tyson Foods, just months after the company shut down a processing plant in southern Missouri. The lawsuit claims there was false representation and a breach of contract on behalf of Tyson Foods prior to the plant's closure in Dexter, Missouri. Missouri expecting two rounds of winter weather The lawsuit alleges that Tyson did not disclose the possibility of closing the facility. It cites arrangements made as early as November 2021 and asserts that Tyson concealed various plans to shut down the plant. Some Missouri-based poultry farmers claim they were "induced to invest millions of dollars in capital" to raise chickens and that Tyson "made promises and representations that their relationship with the Tyson Companies would continue for many years."At least five poultry farmers claim they are out thousands of dollars and saddled with debt.
